Chapter 1 is coming soon

Hello all. This is the first time I am writing a dev log on Itch and still trying to learn how to do so. 

My name is Vipul. I started my career more than two decade ago as a Flash Game Programmer. Eventually I moved out of game development but I stopped playing games or being interested in them. Currently I am enjoying my first run of Baldur's Gate 3. 

About a decade ago, I had a chance to work on my writing skills. I wanted to continue and improve my writing skill and maybe eventually write some fiction but never really had to opportunity to work on it. 

Now with the advent of LLM based AI and the numerous tools available I decide to combine two of my interests and build an Interactive Fiction, The Last Hearth. My main use of AI is to get feedback on my writing and improving the tone of the story I want to tell. I do not use AI to actually write the story. I will be sharing both the code and my interactions with AI on the project's github.

The Last Hearth is a text based interactive fiction focussed on atmosphere and choices. Unlike most games of this genre, this is not about saving the world. Rather it is about surviving in a bleak one using the tools or compassion or indifference. The choice will be yours.

Expecting to roll out the first Chapter before the end of October. Stay tuned for the next update.
